Smoky Creek Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"Varied topography, numerous springs and seeps, interesting canyons, and an endless sky make the Smoky Creek area popular with experienced backpackers during the cooler months. In spite of the moderate use that some parts of the drainage receive during college spring break, Christmas, and the Thanksgiving holiday, it is easy to find plenty of solitude here most of the year. The primitive nature and remoteness of Smoky Creek provide rewarding challenges to experienced hikers but require excellent map-reading skills, plenty of water, knowledge of desert travel, and good judgment."
