This 2.4-mile (one-way) trail follows the shores of Goose Creek from Tabbs Bay. It winds through two parks before exiting onto a hiking and biking trail that follows TX 255 and Goose Creek. The Greenbelt is an ongoing project, begun in 1990, that will eventually extend from downtown Baytown to Bayland Park Marina. Baytown boomed after the Civil War as a trading post along the Texas Gulf Coast and then again with the discovery of oil in 1916.
