It’s always great to find a new trail, and the Buckeye Trail in McKinney Roughs Nature Park qualifies, having opened in late 2007. This is really a connector trail between the Road Runner Trail and the Pecan Bottoms Trail, making these trails easier to reach than they were from the main trailhead at the park headquarters. Buckeye Trail passes through the post oak/blackjack oak savanna ecosystem and leads to one of the largest pecan trees in the state.
