Inga VanNynatten Memorial Trail at Lower Bull Creek Greenbelt Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"If Austin didn’t already have Barton Creek, this would be the feted and popular outdoor destination. By comparison, Bull Creek Greenbelt is underused. Towering bluffs and gorgeous creek scenery wait for you within a stone’s throw of one of the
city’s busiest highways."

A great trail to hike during the weekdays. The trail guide is exactly accurate. I saw absolutely no one the entire day. The trail is maintained in an outstanding manner. This time of year and during the drout the river has dried up completely. Getting to the trail head by car to start off is tricky. Make sure you plan the route and are good with car navigation. Entering by car from the north off of Road 3405 there is a 'Road Closed' sign 850 meters before the trail head parking lot. Proceed past the sign carefully and you will pass over a concrete ford. After the ford the parking lot is on your left. The lot gets locked up at dark so be early. Don't start the hike after 1:00 PM.
