Rather than being a more typical trail, this hike follows 2 miles of the lakeshore in this 323-acre park on upper Lake Travis, and depending on the lake level, you and your dog will be walking on a mixture of rock, sand, and grass. Start from the boat ramp parking area (watch for traffic on warm weekends and summer days) and head out toward the end of the point. There is a road of mostly soft sand out to the point; then just follow the shoreline, either close to the water, where it is mostly large, smooth rock on this point, or higher up, where you’re walking on rocks and sand. Higher up is brushier, and many of the plants there have stickers that cling to fur.
