"With well-marked paved trails, plenty of picnic tables, and a great swimming beach for a post-hike dip, this 3.5-mile loop is well worth the drive. Lake Ray Roberts supplies water to the cities of Dallas and Denton and is named after longtime congressman Ray Roberts, who died in 1993. The lake has two state parks—Isle du Bois and Johnson Branch—and a collection of protected wetlands and wildlife management areas. The nearby Lake Roberts Greenbelt offers 20 miles of trails, but this park tends to have fewer hikers, making it feel worlds away from the Metroplex even though it makes an easy day trip." Read more

Easy paved trail, flat elevation, great for kids or beginners. Pretty walk. A great place for Dallasites to get away and spend time with friends/family. The trail leads through the park, which is very nice. Perfect for bringing picnics.

Not much of a hiking trail, as it is all mostly sidewalk. Was also rather crowded as well. The nature trail was a bit interesting for kids, though.
