It’s always great to find a new trail. This trail around the flood-control detention ponds was opened in August 2008. The paved trail takes advantage of both the forest and the ponds. An area was cleared for the ponds in the surrounding forest in this 500-acre park, and the fish and birds have already moved in. A curving boardwalk with observation platforms and benches crosses the main pond, and there are many good photo ops.
