Boone Road Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This 27-acre park with a short trail is a good hike for families with young children. The entire trail is paved and flat, circling a center area that contains a small playground, picnic tables, a shelter, and a cricket field. It is one of the few parks in Houston where cricket matches can be viewed. Brays Bayou runs along one edge, affording a chance to see birds.
The entire trail is wheelchair and stroller accessible. There is no canopy cover, so wear a hat and sunscreen. Inside the loop there’s a playground, a shelter, benches, picnic tables, and a cricket field. There’s the possibility of seeing a cricket match, a game with some similarity to baseball. The batters use bats that are oblong with skinny handles. The pitcher is called the “bowler,” and runs are scored in a totally different way than in baseball."
