This trail leads down to the base of 60-foot Foster Falls in a steep-walled gorge and then continues west, providing access to the gorge wall for rock climbers before connecting with the Fiery Gizzard Trail. Camping is available at the Father Adamz Campsite (on the Fiery Gizzard Trail) and at the Foster Falls TVA Small Wild Area. When conservationists were trying to get the SCRA established, they enticed the TVA, the giant federal utility that serves the Tennessee River Valley, to help with the project. TVA helped plan the recreation area, donated money toward its development, and established the Foster Falls TVA Small Wild Area, which it manages jointly with the Tennessee Division of State Parks. The campground near the picnic area has running water and hot showers. Camping here is first-come, first-served, with a fee. The campground is closed in late fall and winter; check with the SCRA Visitor Center for the dates.

We only took the trail as far as the suspension bridge, since we were interested in the waterfall. The trail is well-marked, and although steep and rocky in places, we had no problems either descending or ascending. We'll definitely return to this trail during other seasons.
