River and Ridge Combination Trail at Burgess Falls State Park

River and Ridge Combination Trail at Burgess Falls State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This very accessible area also has surprisingly beautiful waterfalls and cascades. The moderate-to-strenuous hike rambles along the Falling Water River as it falls deeper and deeper over cascades and waterfalls. This short trail has a lot of scenery packed into a short distance.

A dam and lake are still there from days when a power plant was here. You will also see the remains of pipeline that moved water from the lake to the turbines used to generate electricity. This area is very popular, so you might want to schedule your trip during a weekday, especially in the morning, to avoid having trouble finding a parking spot, and to miss the crowds."
