Telegraph and North–South Connector Combination Trail at Land Between the Lakes Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Telegraph Trail is part of the 26-mile Fort Henry Trail System. From this trail you can connect to any trail in the system, which has twenty-five markers for hiker orientation. The system actually follows the route of General Ulysses S. Grant’s troops from Fort Henry in the campaign to capture Fort Donelson during the Civil War, and thus it has a historical element.
This portion of the trail begins at the South Welcome Center and passes over gentle hills and through meadows and across streams, before ending on the Fort Henry Road, where it intersects with the south end of the 65-mile North–SouthTrail. The return via the road, which is pleasant and not usually heavily traveled, makes this a 6.5-mile loop hike."
