Norris Dam State Park-Andrews Ridge Loop

Norris Dam State Park-Andrews Ridge Loop Professional Review and Guide

"This hike explores a distinct rail system at Norris Dam State Park. It follows old pioneer roads in hills and hollows homesteaded by rural Tennesseans displaced after the development of Norris Lake. Visit a quiet ridge-top cemetery between loops along steeply sloped ground.

Look for artifacts such as old bricks, relics of past settlement. Beech, maple, pine, and tulip trees grow tall on the once-tilled hillsides. If you want to extend your hike, take the Hootin Hollow Trail 0.7 miles to reach the West Campground, then follow the campground access road to the trailhead."
