Stillhouse Hollow Falls Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This waterfall is contained within a Tennessee state natural area of the same name. The 90-acre preserve, designated in 2006, not only protects Stillhouse Hollow Falls, but also significant wildflowers and wet springs.
A small trail system leads to the top and bottom of Stillhouse Hollow Falls and along the unnamed tributary of Big Bigby Creek, itself a tributary of the Duck River.
Stillhouse Hollow Falls tumbles in three stages. The stream stair steps over layers of limestone then makes its biggest drop in a veil to reach a slightly angled wide rock expanse. It makes the fi nal descent over this rock expanse, then stills in a shallow pool, shaded by trees on its sides, with the waterfall bluff above and a gravel bar below."
