Nashville Greenway: Shelby Bottoms Nature Trail Professional Review and Guide
"A portion of this trail parallels the Cumberland River. This area features bottomland, hardwood forests, open fields, and wetlands. The long pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland River offers great views of the river. This is a good hike for a family with young children. This multiuse trail is in the 810-acre Shelby Bottoms Green way and Nature Park. This is a linear park, which means all hikes are out and back. Shelby Park is at the southern terminus, and residential areas are on the west side. The Cumberland River borders the east side. Benches are placed appropriately along the trail. This area is said to be one of the best birding areas in Nashville."
