This trail, combining the Recovery Trail and sections of the Lake Trail, is located in the 110-acre Dunbar Cave State Natural Area. Local lore has it that the cave was a favorite location for moonshiners during the 1920s. This is a great hike for those who love nostalgia, woods, and lakes. Near the mouth of Dunbar Cave, go up the stairs to a concrete dance floor that in the late 1940s was filled with people dancing to the music of famous bands, including Tommy Dorsey’s and Benny Goodman’s.
