Duck River State Natural Area: Cheeks Bend Vista Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This is a hike for those who love woods, karst geography, and major rivers. Limestone outcroppings cross the trail. Follow the bluff along the river, which comes in and out of view and is 70 to 100 feet below the trail. Reach the overlook and enjoy the sweeping view.
The Cheeks Bend Vista Trail is located in the Cheeks Bend
State Natural Area, which is part of the 2,135-acre Duck River Natural Area Complex. From the trailhead, head west, into the woods. Bear left to reach a kiosk with a large trail map. Most of the trail is singletrack. Bear left, passing several small limestone slabs on the left. Follow the blue-blazed trail west as the trail features limestone outcrops and slabs, indicating this is karst territory (“karst” is a geographic feature)."
