Nolichucky River

Nolichucky River Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trip takes you on waters typical of the lower Nolichucky River. Quieter sections lead past agricultural land, but repeatedly the river will gather to descend in shoals that keep the paddling exciting."

This is a great trail for skilled paddlers who are ready for Class III & IV whitewater. Don’t try to paddle this stretch if you’re a whitewater notice, though. The Nolichucky Gorge Campground is a great spot for put-in and camping. You can park there for a small fee even if you’re not camping. The campground offers shuttles from the takeout back to their facility. There are also outfitters in the area, so guided rafting trips are available.
