Bon Aqua, Lyles, Centerville, Hohenwald, Summertown, Ethridge, and Lawrenceburg, TN Professional Review and Guide
"Many of the stops on this DayTrip are restaurants and inns that are situated in very small towns with nothing else there to speak of. Some of the communities are so close together that you can always drive ahead and then backtrack for food and lodging. Centerville is the place where the late Sara Ophelia Cannon, otherwise known as Minnie Pearl, grew up.
In its heyday in the early 1900s, Summertown was a popular place to stay during the warmer months and was known for its freestone spring where visitors drank the healthful water. Visitors can stop at roadside stands or the family porch to buy vegetables, fruit, sorghum molasses, handmade baskets, quilts, and furniture. No picture taking is allowed, as it infringes on the inhabitants’ rights and beliefs. Each Day Trip includes destination highlights, places to visit along the way, choice restaurants and lodging, and shopping."
