Grassy Ridge Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The destination of this day hike is Grassy Ridge, a southern Appalachian bald that is more than 6,000 feet in elevation and offers a 360° view. All other peaks of this elevation near the A.T. are either covered with trees or are topped with artificial structures (such as Clingmans Dome).
From Grassy Ridge, there are views of Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain, and White Rocks Mountain. Rhododendron, flame azalea, and Gray’s lily can all be found blooming in this area in late June."
