Cliff Ridge Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This hike takes you from the banks of the Nolichucky to a cliff above the river, which provides many fine viewpoints. The Trail follows Cliff Ridge for a mile. The walkway on the bridge over the Nolichucky River is named for Ray Hunt, a longtime trail maintainer, who served as chair of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy from 1983 to 1989.
From the trailhead at the bridge, follow the road to the left and, shortly thereafter, climb the bank on steps. In 0.25 mile, the Trail begins to ascend on switchbacks. At mile 0.5, reach the southern end of Cliff Ridge."
