Colditz Cove is a beautiful state natural area located near the community of Allardt, a couple of miles off of TN 52. It is best known for the beautiful Northrup Falls, but it also has some tremendous rock overhangs that line the cove on both sides of the waterfalls. To get a decent view of the waterfalls, you don’t have to descend down into the cove itself. However, the trail down into the cove winds through rock gardens and underneath bluffs, loops behind the waterfall itself, and is worth the extra energy.
