The area is a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors, with places to visit such as Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, Pickett State Park, and nearby Dale Hollow Lake, which is a paradise for fishing, boating, and water sports.
Today, about twenty Victorian-style buildings remain, many of which are virtually unchanged. Historic Rugby, Inc., conducts guided walking tours of four of the structures, and some you can explore by yourself. All are on the National Register of Historic Places. This eTrail from the DayTrips series describes many fascinating, exciting, (and many free of charge) things to do, most within a two-hour drive of Nashville. Each Day Trip includes destination highlights, places to visit along the way, choice restaurants and lodging, and shopping.
