This loop trail is paved, level, 8 feet wide, and is ideal for hikers in wheelchairs or those who are interested in less rigorous hikes. The trail winds past wildflowers and a great variety of hardwoods and other trees, and provides its share of shorebirds and waterfowl as it opens up at various points. It also has periodic, strategically located benches to rest upon as a hiker makes his or her way around the lake and passes by sinkholes under hardwood forests. This trail can be a feast of sights and smells in the autumn also, with the leaves changing and falling underfoot. Approximately 0.5 mile down the loop, you will cross a picturesque 300-foot footbridge, which provides an open view over the lake. This trail is particularly popular with female joggers, because there is always some company on the trail, and it is seen as a safe location for an after-work walk or jog.

The title of this trail is somewhat misleading as it is actually closer to Antioch, TN. Depending upon your outdoor goal this trail can be many things to many folks. If you love outdoors/nature and want a causal walk to enjoy trees or nature while walking an easy 2 mile walk on a paved trail then this trail is a 10+. It is a great trail for families to walk and do some minor exploring and because it is paved it is even great for the families with strollers. If you are into fitness and want a place to go off the normal green ways and malls to do your intense walking this trail is an excellent alternative for you. If you are looking for a place to bike, mountain bike or intense workouts and challenges then this trail isn't really for those types of activity. The trail reaches very hot and humid levels in the summer months despite the fact that there is mostly shade. This is a better time to do early morning and late afternoon/evening activities n the trail. One final note here is during times the area is receiving heavy rain fall the lake and trails flood easily and closure is certain.
