Hurricane Gap Professional Review and Guide
"This 16.5-mile ride is located in the Paint Creek Recreation Area, which is in the Nolichucky Ranger District of Tennessee's Cherokee National Forest. After making the climb to the fire tower, the reminder of the ride is less demanding aerobically; you will enjoy traveling along the North Carolina - Tennessee state line, riding on dirt roads, and catching views of distant ridges through the dense forest. Stay on the main road, as a wrong turn could send you down a steep hill into North Carolina when your car is parked back in Tennessee. The scenery is beautiful; dense forest with vistas through the trees and spectacular views from the Rich Mountain fire tower."
