Civil War buffs will enjoy this hike that leads to a 40-foot-high bluff above the Harpeth River, overlooking Franklin. Stairs and a boardwalk assist in the hike up the steep, heavily wooded hillside to the location of the fort, which was constructed in 1863 by Union soldiers. Signs along the trail provide interesting information about the fort, which no longer exists.
