Gilbert Gaul Loop Professional Review and Guide
"This loop swings by the site of the Gilbert Gaul Homestead. A painter, Gaul came to the Fall Creek Falls area of Tennessee while in his twenties, inheriting land from an uncle. At the homestead, he built a studio where he completed several of his paintings, including The Picket, showing a mountain man standing guard; Gaul used a local moonshiner as the model for the soldier. On the return part of the loop, the trail parallels the shore of Fall Creek Lake, with several waterside views."
