If you live in Memphis, you’ve probably been to Cordova, but maybe you didn’t know it. It’s a twenty-minute drive on to Wolfchase Galleria, the premier shopping center in the metro-Memphis area. Cordova is also home to a rapidly increasing population. Its close proximity to Memphis and its freshness all contribute to making it a superb little enclave not just to live in but also to visit for the day. When you exit the interstate at Germantown Road, Cordova is primarily on the south side of the road. To the north are both the Galleria and several strip malls flanked by chain restaurants. But to the south you’ll find the heart of Cordova: shops and restaurants covering the street, with newly developed subdivisions just behind.
So though you won’t find many museums or monuments to visit, you will find an ongoing and varied list of events to plan your trip around. This eTrail from the DayTrips series describes many fascinating, exciting, (and many free of charge) things to do, most within a two-hour drive of Memphis. Each Day Trip includes, destination highlights, places to visit along the way, choice restaurants and lodging, and shopping.
