Kingston Springs, White Bluff, Waverly, and Camden, TN Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Harpeth Scenic River and Narrows Historic Area near Kingston Springs is worth a visit. A 100-yard tunnel, which was hand-cut by slaves who used drills and black powder to get through the solid rock, was declared one of the great engineering feats of the time. Today it is an industrial landmark on the National Register of Historic Places and a subsidiary of Montgomery Bell State Park, just one of Tennessee’s fifty-three state parks.
Just a short drive takes you to White Bluff, a town where the living is easy and the barbecue isn’t greasy. Continue until you reach Camden, which draws visitors to see a working freshwater pearl farm. This eTrail from the DayTrips series describes many fascinating, exciting, (and many free of charge) things to do, most within a two-hour drive of Nashville. Each Day Trip includes destination highlights, places to visit along the way, choice restaurants and lodging, and shopping."
