Hiwassee Outfitters in Reliance, TN is the place to go when you are ready to paddle the Hiwassee River. You can schedule a raft trip, rent a kayak (the have inflatable kayaks and hard sit-on-top kayaks), or go tubing. Their trips follow a 5.5 mile stretch of the Hiwassee that is Class I & II. (If you are looking for Class III higher thrills, visit one of the nearby outfitters that offers trips on the Ocoee (which is on the other side of Hwy 64). They have a nice campground and rental cabins, so you can make a weekend of it. If you’re hungry after your day on the water, head a little way West on Hwy 64 to the Ocoee Dam Deli & Diner. They have tasty, reasonably priced meals that will really hit the spot after a day of paddling or tubing.
