Falls of the Scenic Spur Professional Review and Guide
"This hike explores the lower end of the designated Rock Creek Gorge Scenic Area in the Cherokee National Forest. Leave the trailhead to shortly enter the valley of Rock Creek, at first a wide, wooded flat centered with a clear stream. The valley closes and you enter the heart of the gorge with its rock bluffs, boulders, and craggy splendor. A couple of creek crossings take you deeper into the gorge and trail’s end, where a series of waterfalls and deep pools inspire the trail’s name."
