Western States Trail is a hiking, biking, and horse trail in Placer County, California. It is within Tahoe National Forest. It is 4.0 miles long and begins at 4,722 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 8.2 miles with a total elevation gain of 2,823 feet. The Beaman Ledge Mine (elevation 5,085 feet) quarry is near the trailhead. The Golden Riffle Mine (elevation 4,623 feet), Star Town Mine (elevation 4,665 feet), and Root Hog Mine (elevation 4,675 feet) quarries can be seen along the trail.
