I firmly believe that the Badlands are the most wonderful place in this country. The more you learn about how this land was formed, the more you can appreciate and respect it. There is no better place to relax and enjoy nature. No matter how many people are around (and in the summer there are quite a few), it is easy to feel alone and isolated. The stripes of color in the bluffs are awesome, especially after rains, when the colors are very sharp and bright. This is a great hike for anyone who is looking for peacefulness.
