Tyger River

Tyger River Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This paddling adventure skirts through the hills and bottomlands of the Sumter National Forest, staying within its confines nearly the entire 10.5-mile paddle. The trip appropriately starts at a remote national forest landing a few miles southwest of Union, near Rose Hill Plantation State Historic Site.

The Tyger River will flow through flats before careening off steep hills wooded with pine and cedar. Numerous smallish creeks cut gullies, spilling into the butterscotch-tinted waterway with their own clearish flows. Much of the waterway is shallow and sandy."
