Falls on Reedy Branch Trail—Sumter National Forest Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This short but enjoyable hike leads you down a little-known gravel Forest Service road. When you reach the base of the hill, you are quickly greeted by an alluring waterfall with a wonderful splash pool at the base. The dogs enjoy sniffing about and taking a dip at the base, while the sound and sight of the water dancing on the rocks satisfies your own senses.

Although the hike is short, it still has many of the wonderful characteristics that come along with a longer hike. You’ll find a variety of birds serenade you the minute you pass through the lofty stone pillars that greet you at the trailhead. The pillars were built many years ago, when this area was slotted to become a housing development."

"Mysterious! A gorgeous gazebo alongside the base of the falls makes you wonder who once lived here. It feels as though you are trespassing as you pass through the stone pillars at the trailhead, heading down the driveway to what may have been someone's dream home." Read more
