Pacolet River near Spartanburg

Pacolet River near Spartanburg Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The first 4 miles of the paddle drop at a gradient nearing 10 feet per mile. You will pass over several rocky drops with mostly straightforward river reads. The Pacolet makes several bends as it passes through foothills. The longest rapid is just before it meets Lawsons Fork.

Take the time to paddle up a stream that also offers more difficult whitewater paddling than the Pacolet. Below the confluence with Lawsons Fork, the Pacolet River calms down. Shoals appear but infrequently. Interestingly, you will pass the Pacolet River Heritage Preserve on river right. This locale harbors a natural ecosystem that occurs in this valley."
