Pacolet River Heritage Trust Preserve: Lawson’s Fork Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This 278-acre preserve was formed in 1993 by the Heritage Trust Program to protect the land as well as two prehistoric American Indian soapstone quarries that provide a unique habitat for a variety of uncommon plants such as moss and leafy liverwort. The trail offers great views of the Pacolet River and is close enough to downtown Spartanburg to be enjoyed after work or on a nice Sunday afternoon. In the spring and fall, migrating songbirds use the preserve as a nesting spot."
