Chicken Creek

Chicken Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Francis Marion National Forest is your setting for this triple play. Start out on the big Santee River, where you will follow this wide, wooded waterway toward the coast. Make a big bend on this massive yet undeveloped segment of great river before joining Chicken Creek.

This smaller waterway shortcuts more big bends in the Santee, striking its own course, curving past primeval shoreline that delivers a sense of being in the back of beyond. Emerge onto the South Santee River, once again on wide-open coastal plain waterway."
