Awendaw Creek Canoe Trail

Awendaw Creek Canoe Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This one of the most beautiful parcels within the scenic Francis Marion National Forest. Here you can take Awendaw Creek through cordgrass marshes bordered by a maritime woodland standing atop resplendent bluffs. The waterway makes a serpentine course southeasterly as it follows the daily fluctuations of the tide, for the mouth of this creek is less than 1 mile from the Atlantic Ocean.

Awendaw Creek opens onto the Intracoastal Waterway. There, you will join boaters of all stripes, from anglers to sailors to paddlers like us. On one side you will have the national forest, and the other will be Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge."
