Marrington Plantation Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"A short nature trail through the wetlands of the Back River. The hiking experience at Marrington Plantation consists of a 1.1-mile-long interpretative trail, with associated boardwalks, piers, and towers, along with more than 3 miles of additional hiking options through forests and across rice-field dikes.

As is the case with all walks in the wetlands of South Carolina’s coastal plain, it is necessary to prepare for insects in warm weather, and advisable to stay on delineated trails to avoid snakes. The plantation property is a diverse system of freshwater wetlands and lowland forest bordering the Back River and its tributary, Foster Creek. The plantation’s trails meander along and across rice fields and swamp forest."
