Broad River at Columbia

Broad River at Columbia Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"It is a carry to reach the put-in, but you will enjoy the views of the river before jumping in your boat at a rapid and instantaneously doing some rock dodging. The float on the aptly named Broad River is a truly urban paddle, right through the heart of Columbia. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t scenic. Rocky shoals add visual and auditory beauty. Bridges mark your passages.

Downstream you pass under the Timmerman Bridge, then enter a series of islands with multiple passages, depending on water level. Amid these islands, the waters of the Broad River merge with those of the dam-chilled, clear waters of the Saluda River, and together they form the mighty Congaree."
