The boardwalk and bridge make for a fun short walk. It’s only half a mile one way. Leaving the parking area, you walk over the Juniper dam bridge. The bridge crosses the dam spillway and provides a picturesque view of Juniper Lake.
Once over the bridge, the trail to the boardwalk isn’t very long. There are a few exposed roots peeping out from the pine needle floor, so you want to pay attention where you’re walking.
The boardwalk has a beautiful over the water appeal as it juts out over the lake along the edge. If you’re a birdwatcher, there are signs for all the possible birds and water fowls you might get to see, including ospreys and bald eagles. A fun walk and one the kids really enjoy.
