West Ashley Greenway parallels U.S. Highway 17 from South Windermere Shopping Center to Main Road, a few hundred yards short of the drawbridge over to Johns Island. This linear, grassy trail, once lined with rails and crossties, travels past neighborhoods, woodlands, and marshes. You will also ride through the middle of the Clemson Experimental Station, an extension office of the state’s agriculture school. Tread: Wide, hard-packed dirt singletrack.
