Emilie Ruecker Wildlife Refuge Trail Professional Review and Guide
"Grab your insect repellent and prepare to see glorious views of a salt marsh. Two of the three main trails at this refuge skirt the edge of the marsh, where you will be treated to beautiful panoramas and sightings of the wildlife that abounds throughout. A third trail takes you through a forest, where birds are plentiful. A large portion of this 50-acre refuge was the site of a former farm donated in 1965 to the Audubon Society of Rhode Island by the artist Emilie Ruecker. You will easily see why the landscape was an inspiration for her paintings. The farm is now left in its natural state for all to enjoy, but careful observers will see signs of its earlier days."
