Catch glimpses of salt marshes, seabirds. and the Sakonnet River on this woodland walk. This short, beautiful walk in the woods can offer something new every time you visit. Maintained by the Audubon Society of Rhode Island, the refuge is a favorite feeding site for a variety of coastal birds, including herons and egrets that nest on nearby Gould Island. At certain times of year, some trails may be closed to prevent visitors from disturbing raptors nesting within the refuge. Red squirrels, red foxes, and short-tailed weasels also reside in the red cedar woodland portion of this 47-acre reserve.
