Prudence Island Professional Review and Guide
"A network of trails at the center of a quirky, charming island. There's something about being on an island accessible only by boat that makes you feel set apart from the rest of the world. And that’s part of the appeal of traveling to Prudence Island, a 6-mile–long, 1-mile–wide island just 0.75 mile off the coast of Bristol and less than twenty-five minutes away by ferry. Another part of the appeal is the friendliness of the locals. The driver of every car or truck that passes (there aren’t too many on this low-traffic island) is likely to smile and wave, and any children outside the Prudence Island Schoolhouse (near the entrance to the Schoolhouse Trail) will wave and call hello. Prudence Island isn’t a resort—there are no overpriced boutiques or expensive restaurants. It’s a living, working community."
