Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge Trail

Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This is by far one of Rhode Island’s most valuable places. Once a farm, the 787-acre Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge now encompasses various wildlife habitats, including Rhode Island’s only undeveloped coastal salt pond.

It is virtually impossible to leave here without seeing some type of wildlife in the fields, shrublands, woodlands, beaches, and ponds that make up the refuge. The friendly volunteers at the visitor center are extremely knowledgeable and can alert you to recent sightings before you set out. A camera is a must on this hike, and if your kids have their own, they will be snapping away the entire time."
