Tidal Information
Newport’s south side is subject to open ocean conditions. Even on days with small seas, swells will grow into sizable waves as they roll over the shallow water and rocks. There are long stretches with few or no easy bailouts; have solid rescue skills before attempting this route and be prepared to be in your boat for a while.
