Olney Pond Professional Review and Guide
"Olney Pond is a beautiful little wooded pond just minutes from
downtown Providence. Because of that proximity, hikers, joggers, and bicyclists abound, especially on weekends. You can expect to find
beauty here but not solitude."
--Alex Wilson & John Hayes, Quiet Water Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island: AMC's Canoe and Kayak Guide, 3rd Edition (Appalachian Mountain Club Books).
This pond is a good place for canoeing and kayaking. There are many granite boulders to go around and a few small islands that you can check out. The bass fishing is good near these islands. Lincoln Woods is a great place for mt. biking, trials riding, and hiking. It is also one of the most popular places for rock climbing around.
