On the Connecticut - Rhode Island border, 7 miles NW of Hope Valley, RI and 16 miles NE of Norwich, CT. This 2-state circuit beginning and ending in Rhode Island's Arcadia Management Area tags the shore of Beach Pond, travels mixed woods and rocky hilltops, passes Escoheag Fire Tower (closed to the public), and concludes with a woodland meander. Travel foot trail and woods roads; a spur to Stepstone Falls extends the tour. Special attractions: Beach Pond views and access, mountain laurel and sweet pepperbush, intriguing rocky hilltops and slots, varied woods, wildlife, fall foliage, Stepstone Falls.
