A fun paddle on a pristine, flowing river. The Wood River is one of Rhode Island's natural treasures: A pristine, flowing waterway that winds from Arcadia Management Area through beautiful woodlands down to the Pawcatuck River. The whole length of river is about 14 miles, and much of it is perfect for paddling. To complete the entire stretch, however, several portages are required.

i just did this trip on 3/30/08 it was great. if u go u need to get there before the river starts going down. it was a nice steady flow the whole trip. a couple spots of quick water and down trees to keep your guard up. i must do this trip again before it gets to warm.
